Less Calories At Night

I always have been able to break through a plateau when I eat less at night for a few days. Nothing drastic, but something simple such as cutting back the amount of carbs at night(or switching the cals so that the lunch and early snack are a bit more heavier and dinner is a bit more light). This does the trick all the time but might be a bit difficult. It will help break through a plateau though and has helped me maintain my weight loss of 80 lbs. Hopefully I will remember this for my plateaus.

  • It is tough...I was just dealing with my own plateau and have gone totally boot camp because it feels like I have been doing this forever--(I began at 250 lbs 5-6 years ago and have been averaging a 20lb weight loss per year...I think giving the body a small or big shock for a few days helps it become stronger (Even though its tough to break some old bad habbits). Sometimes at night I would have warm 1% lowfat milk, honey and a piece of bread 80 cal bread and fruit at night (this equates about 350-400 calories and it is pretty filling) instead of a 600 or 700 calorie meal... emoticon - by CAROLINE6778

  • I have always eaten the heaviest meal last in the day (7 to 8 pm). Now I will try to eat this at 4 to 5 pm, and have something very light at night plus lots of water.

  • This is a great tip! I try to eat most of my calories at breakfast and lunch, but sometimes there's nothing better than a great carb or dessert with dinner... I'm going to try to skip the bread at dinner for a few days and see how that helps.
