Think again about storing knives in a wooden knife block! Not only does wood retain moisture, it harbours germs. A better choice would be to use a magnetic knife rack or knife guards.
A knife rack mounted over your kitchen counter will keep your knives dry and germ free. Storing knives flat in a drawer is a good choice too but be sure to protect not only the knife, but yourself with a knife guard.
Involve children in meal prep. When kids have ownership they will want to eat the food they made. This is a great opportunity to introduce new veggies. In addition to learning to eat new foods, kids will learn about nutrition, cooking, cleaning up, working to help the family & kitchen safety.
I started my son cutting avocados with a plastic knife at 3. At 6 he is a pro with a chef's knife under my supervision of course. He loves to taste the new veggies that he cuts up for me!
I have discovered that Scrubbing bubbles will really clean those ceramic Tiles. I have ceramic tiles in the Kitchen and believe me, they can get quite dirty but those scrubbing bubbles fizzes and lifts the dirt right out. Love them.
