yeah my wife says like that john bob or what ever his name is on 18 or 19 kids and counting, buy used and save the difference, which she was doing that for a while, I work in timber so i don't have a 9-5 office job, if it rains, snows, equipment tares up, and other reason's can keep me from working, and she learned quickly even at the age of 16 to do what you can to save any amount of money, everything from how to make cheap meals, to clipping coupons, saving our change, her having yard sales, shopping at thrift stores, and yard sales, having the swap meets, etc.

When it comes to food, clothing, I learned from my grandma. Grow your own or buy locally. Make your own clothes, buy used or on clearance especially if you're only passing through the sizes! Get used to not spending much and you'll find you don't need much! Even in decorating this idea works.
I only buy used books. Every year our community has a used book sale. I get there early to look for the books on my list for $1.00 or $2.00. Then I go back on the last day and fill a bag with books at the reduced price of $5.00 a bag.
