Don'T Overthink Your Workout!

My secret to working out is not to overthink my workout! When I start to do this, I will come up with every excuse not to workout. Eg: I'm too tired, not enough time, I don't feel like it, I can't. I have learned to just get moving and jump right into some kind of exercise. I feel great afterwards and don't have to put myself through the guilt of not reaching my daily workout goals.

    I did this today and felt SO tempted to skip working out. Instead of lounging about, I just jumped right into strength training and walking because I didn't feel like bouncing around today. I didn't burn half as much as I usually do, but I did something and that's what matters.

    I do the same thing. I literally role out of bed, grab a water and do my recumbent bike for 5 miles. I usually follow that up with resistant bands, wall push ups and maybe even a walk with Leslie Sanson. I feel much better, I know I've done it and it's out of the way and I don't have to dread the 'end' of the day workout. Donna

    I've started doing my work-out first thing after I get up. I agree there are too many excuses that come up, the longer you wait. emoticon

    I completely agree! I think the same goes for meals too--if you think too much about what you're going to eat, you come up with all those 'tastier' but less healthy options!
