Tracking food each day helps me know what I have actually consumed, the calories, and the nutrients. I can observe what is different from day to day and pin point what may have caused a weight gain or loss.

The Spark people food tracker is fantastic because it will give you a report that breaks down each category you choose such as nutrients, calories, percentages per meal, etc. The benefits are that you can receive help as to what foods you should add and what foods you need to avoid.

    I love tracking, since I tend to go under my nutrition goals tracking and the reports give me the kick in the pants I need to add more healthy calories so that I will continue to loose excess pounds.

    I have lost 158 pounds. The most important "secret" is that there are no secret, magical ways to do it. There are well-known procedures that must be practiced daily. And the most important among them is TRACKING. I know where I am. I can plan where to go. I cannot make excuses when there is clear evidence of my behavior right in front of me. I can celebrate in healthy choices, even when the results are not where I want them to be. Tracking my nutrition has changed my life. emoticon
