when running uphill, there is a secret that can actually PULL you up in a much easier way than all the huffing and puffing and fear of going uphill :) LEAN IN toward the hill just a LITTLE way until you FEEL your center of gravity about to cause you to fall FLAT on your face :) DO NOT FALL :) but DO tiptoe up the hill as you balance your weight, this takes a LOT of pressure off your leg muscles, NOT forcing them to bear ALL the pressure of PUSHING you up the hill, but allowing your legs to relax

MORE INFORMATION:
also since most hills have a downside :) do the OPPOSITE while going down hill, LEAN back slightly and imagine you are about to sit on a high stool just enough to take some pressure off your leg muscles, so SIT on the imaginary high chair by leaning back VERY slightly, and bending knees slightly

    ahhh I do this while hiking - I may look a little weird, but at least it helps :-)
