Your diet should include foods from all the food groups: grains/starch, veggie, fruit ,milk, protein & healthy fats like Olive oil or avocado's. Milk & fruits cause slower rises in glucose levels. Eat low glycemic, what I like to call slow foods....& remember portion control cause if you overeat slow foods you can still get a high sugar count.
