Stress can cause us to want to give up, especially when it's caused by things going wrong. Take a few minutes to ease your stress: listen to music, read, walk, just relax. When you have less stress, it's easier to make good decisions.
The chronic effects of stress on the body can play a role in diabetes by altering the insulin levels in the body. Stress affects the digestive system, forgetfulness, low energy levels, depression & can cause weight gain. You can relieve stress thru meditation, massage, exercise, & vitamins. deficiencies of Omega 3 fatty acids contribute to increased anxiety & depression. B-vitamins, calcium & magnesium all help calm the nervous system and promote muscle relaxation, calmness & quality sleep.
Seeds, wholegrains, fruit & milk help reduce heart disease, manage cholesterol, blood pressure, & weight & the risk for many diseases. Your diet should include foods from all the food groups: grains/starch, veggie, fruit ,milk, protein & healthy fats like Olive oil or avocado's. Milk & fruits cause slower rises in glucose levels. Eat low glycemic, what I like to call slow foods....& remember portion control cause if you overeat slow foods you can still get a high sugar count.
