Learn to replace sabotaging thoughts with positive ones. i.e "I ate something bad this morning...so I might as well enjoy the rest of the day and start again tomorrow!" instead, think, "I messed up this morning but will make better choices for lunch & dinner"
For some the battle is not what we eat but why!

I personally don't think positive thinking is as easy as flipping a switch. But gradual re-shaping from negative thoughts can be made easier. Whenever any negative thought occurs (and you'll soon become aware of just how many you have daily!), immediately counter it with the opposite positive one. That way, your brain will start to get used to the awareness of the sunnier side of life. Reinforce the positive by spending more time thinking of the positive thought.
