I always lose count of which lap I am on when I do distance walking of the track. My mind wanders and then I'm like, which lap am I on? Now, I carry a pebble for each lap I want to do and toss the pebble after each lap. When my pocket is empty, then I am done! Now I'm free to let my mind wander, think, and dream!

This is such a fantastic idea! In addition to the intended purpose of getting the lap count, it's also kind'a motivational to empty your pocket so it may inspire a better run. Good one!

I used to do this when swimming laps in my pool. I'd precount 20 rocks from the nearby landscaping and place them at one end of the pool, then everytime I got down there, I'd toss one back where it came from until I was done!

Besides a Vision Collage, place a small jar filled with pebbles or marbles, one for each pound or half pound you have set your goal at. Take out the pebbles or marbles as you lose those pounds. Keep your jar on the kitchen counter or close to the refrigerator as a reminder to stay on track.
