I know Bacon isn't the healthiest food, but having it in moderation is key. We just don't buy it often because of the price. But I stumbled upon a 2kg box of Bacon Ends for 5.99! Look for these kinds of deals. I've also seen chicken pieces that were in a 3 kg bag for $10. Don't forget to check out the bulk frozen sections, or ask the butchers if there's any meat that wasn't pretty enough to display in packages, that you can get at a discount. All they can say is no.

  • My folks always bought bacon ends. I didn't know bacon came in slices until I got married! - by CARRAND
  • Freeze bacon in a large plastic zipper freezer bag by making a stack of slices, leave a space, make another stack, etc. Lay flat in freezer till frozen, then fold on the spaces you left. When you want to use bacon, unfold and take out just one stack. Hope this makes sense. I make stacks of 2 slices which gives us a single slice each. - by DR1939
