4 servings Prep 5 minCook 7 minTotal: 12 min Ingredients * 2 garlic cloves, minced * 2 tablespoons onion, diced * 2 tablespoons olive oil * 2 tomatoes, chopped * 3 tablespoons fresh herbs (oregano, basil, parsley), chopped * Salt and pepper, to taste * Pinch sugar Directions In a saucepan over medium heat, saute garlic and onion in oil for 2 mins. Add tomatoes and herbs, continue to cook for 5 min until the tomatoes soften. Season with salt, pepper and sugar.
I use a Lemon Pepper grinder for pierogies and seasoning eggs. I used to use a little butter on the Pierogies but with the lemon pepper I find it provides enough flavor without the extra calories. Be sure to read the label however - I found one jar had salt added now I make sure it is only black pepper and dried lemon rind.
