For a low calorie quick breakfast I toast an Eggo (or your choice) whole grain waffle. Then I arrange blue berries on top in the little squares (1/4 C per waffle) and microwave for about 20 seconds (you don't want them to burst, but close!). There's so much flavor you need little or no syrup.
Use WHOLE GRAIN MIXES TO MAKE WAFFLES OR PANCAKES or buy wheat pancakes.Eating a plain waffle can raise blood sugar immediately, so add some nut butter with flaxseeds and/or fruit as the protein from the nuts will cause the sugar to be released gradually. Or simply top your waffle with a soft boiled egg.
