I tried some healthy recipes and they really don't taste good enough to give in my gift baskets. I decided to make half of each of my favorite recipes which will give me enough cookies for the baskets but not leave enough left to tempt me for days on end.

I'll be checking the store today for Hallowe'en candy on sale, but it has to be the right candy - that is candy that can also be used for baking. It will join the leftovers that didn't get handed out last night and used for Christmas baking. Makes nice treats for guests, for cookie exchanges, or for visiting.
Every year in mid October I make a list of the extra pantry items I will need for my Thanksgiving & Christmas baking and cooking. I then will buy something on this list when I do my weekly shopping. I then put the items in a storage container, which I keep in my pantry. This way I have what I need in one place and will be sure to have what I need on hand when I do my baking and cooking.
