Set a goal, then plan the action steps to reach it.
Pretend the goal is a destination and determine the time or distance to reach it. Then pull out your calendar and break down the "journey" into small, manageable steps.
Even plan for "rest stops" which can be days off or plateaus. This will give you a daily plan and help keep you motivated to stay on track. Whether it's weight, a race, or quitting a bad habit - YOU CAN DO IT WITH SOME PLANNING AND SUPPORT!
It's not good to ONLY focus on the goal! It's important to appreciate the JOURNEY & even take in the scenery.
If you make reasonable plans, you'll notice when your steps are straying off course with this method, be able to adapt & get back on track better than if you don't track your progress.
