At times I have had an open mind but felt threatened when someone else thought differently. Good relationships require the non-threatening exchange of ideas and feelings. When I listen to someone’s opinions and feelings, without being defensive, I learn and grow. It opens my mind to understanding more, with the world and within myself. I’m at the stage when I truly value PEACE and HARMONY …even if I have to kill to get it.
Some people thrive on debates or competition, and WINNING the ‘argument’, but in reality they LOSE, and don’t even know it. When I discuss things with the aim of HEARING the other person, and acknowledging their side, it usually expands our understanding and mutual respect, a WIN/WIN victory

He was taught that one does not eat between meals and he is a Spartan, who has never done so./ The new thinking of eating 5 smaller meals is something he FIRMLY disagrees with. I have to choose with doing all I can to be healthy, or agree with him and let him RANT.
