I have tried lots of diets over the years because everybody always said that I needed to lose weight. But I could never stick to anything. Finally, last year (2009) I decided I was going to do something for me. I set my priority as becoming healthy for me--and it's working (so far 68 lbs. gone.)9
The best thing to do is realize that you have to make the changes for you and for the rest of your life. Don't consider this as a diet--make it a lifestyle. Realize that you are doing something that will change you inside and out. Open your mind to trying new things (foods, exercise, etc.)
