I used to sit in front of the tv at night and eat. Even if I stayed in my calorie range it was a constant battle to stop the cravings! No sooner than I'd eat one snack, I'd be craving the next one. Well, little did I know, I was programming myself to eat whenever the tv was on. Now I eat my meals and snacks at the table, where I can thoroughly enjoy them. And there are way fewer cravings.

Sometimes I get the munchies after dinner. So, instead of eating junk food while watching tv, I postpone dessert for about 1 hour after dinner. I do the dishes, clean up the kitchen, watch a little tv, and it's nearly 8 pm - my usual time for the munchies.
This satisfies my sweet tooth, desserts are portion controlled, and it stops the mindless snacking at night in front of the tv.
Not only will you spend less time in front of the tv but you will save money. I only spend $9 a month on Netflix now and can stream straight to my tv what I want to watch (movies & tv show) and it's easier to spend less time just veggin & channel surfing in front of the tv.
