A wonderful breakfast treat this holiday season is oatmeal for breakfast - with a twist. Use only half or 2/3 the normal serving of oatmeal, with smashed banana and pumpkin (great way to get breakfast veggies) and a few grams of chopped walnuts and or raisins, prunes, etc. Then mix in pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, calorie free sweetener or better yet, sugar free pancake syrup . MMmm, MMmm, GOOD!
Buy Non-Fat Yogurt (plain) in the large tub and add your favorite mixins. One of my favorites is sugar free pancake syrup. It sweetens the yogurt and add a great maple flavor. To that, I'll add a little meusli, granola or oatmeal at night and let it sit in the fridge overnight for breakfast.
Sugar Free pancake syrup - only 20 cals. per 1/4 cup, and usually only takes a couple of TBLSP to add to oatmeal, meusli, yogurt etc for a sweet treat and lots of extra flavor!
