Load Up On "Other Goals"

I have about 24 "Other Goals" on Spark People. Do I actually accomplish every single goal every day? No! But having so many goals listed there allows me to do two wonderful things: 1) I can read them every day, reminding myself of my ideal day. 2) There are always more than 5 of them that I can honestly check off for having accomplished, thus maximizing my spark points and feeling the glow of accomplishment.

MORE INFORMATION:
The types of goals this practice is best for are secondary or optional goals. For more important goals, such as exercising, tracking calories, etc. I don't even track them. I just do them.

    I have a lot of "Other Goals" too, most of them from joining Team Goals, which are tracked under our Other Goals page. However, I also list about ten of my own, and they ARE tasks I strive for that may seem easy, but AREN'T so automatic for me. I also change them - which is very easy to do - as my situation changes.

They're not all food and exercise-related either: I fight going to sleep at a regular time, so that's one of the goals. I'll also find myself getting cocooned at home, so Walk Outside is a goal. When my son was killed, and I realized I wasn't remembering to shower for days, I added THAT to my Other Goals.

    I have a lot of "other goals" and have found this extremely helpful. I don't know why I love getting the checkmarks so bad, but I do. I have found this to be the same with To Do lists on paper. I usually added the Fast Break goals and the weekly goals for Stage 2 in there so that I would remember to try these. And I have many other goals for things like eating fruits & veggies, getting enough sleep, doing Yoga, journaling, etc. I love that I can graph my streaks as well!
