    We meet up with friends at subway. Each pays for their own meal, we can go to
a park to eat when the weather is warm. emoticon

    I have no family here at all - and having dinner with friends involves being able to reciprocate the invitation. I have no place at all to entertain - and no money to take anyone out - EVEN IF my husband and I only ordered coffee. People order without looking at the cost - my food budget for a week or more would be gone in one hour. I WISH I knew someone who would invite us - but, again, then you have to reciprocate somehow. I haven't been able to do that for many many years.
