I find that I get tense neck and shoulder muscles when I do cardio. The other day I noticed that when I get to that point where I just have to grin and bear it through the uncomfortable part, I look up at the ceiling. So I put a sticky note on teh spot I look at that says, "pay attention to what your body is doing!".
The instant reminder of what I am doing subconciously is just the kind of feedback I need to keep myself on track!

Just read in Yoga Journal where the author mentioned she got back on track by hearing a teacher talk about how to "place the body" in a certain posture vs. "your body"...she thought about this when dealing with food cravings and emotional eating. Does "the body" need the extra serving, or do "I need" it? If it's "I" then consider taking another look what's behind the craving and deal with the underlying issue first...if it's "the body" truly then nourish it and move on...this really helped me !
