When I was in college, I went to the personal counseling office because I was feeling really overwhelmed, and my counselor told me something about procrastination that will always stick with me: "Don't wait until you "feel like" doing something, because chances are good you'll never "feel like" doing it."

Pretty much sums it up for me too......"feeling it" may never happen in my case.......just gotta FORCE myself to get started and then feel so good about doing it and then thinking to myself that it was not only all that bad but felt so right.....

YEP, look for something, ANYTHING, that gives you even a hint of motivation to "JUST DO IT" and at that very second - JUMP RIGHT IN! Even if it takes promising yourself that you can quit after 10 minutes, more than likely, you will convince yourself to carry on.

Thank you for posting this. Sometimes I need the reminder. A lot of times I think about how I feel now instead of how I WILL feel later.

all the right words have been said already.... yes - my treadmill walking was not because it was something I was just "rushing" to do, but done because I had set an alarm that said, "walk on treadmill" -- but after I did it a few times, it got easier!! Love your post!

I agree with what you said. I've never thought about it that way before, being a procrastinator, I usually argue with myself on what I should do then beat myself up for doing nothing. I am going to take the words of your counselor to heart and be more decisive. Have a GREAT DAY!!!!
