To keep myself from getting frantic, I keep a copy of master lists on my computer. These lists include: "Company Cleaning" (a room by room list of everything that needs doing from ceiling to baseboards), "Packing List" (everything I need to pack for myself and my eight year old," etc. Whenever something pops up, I can go to that list and make certain that I am prepped and ready to go!

Using SplashShopper (or any phone app) for a master to-to list and daily selecting the to-dos off the master list.
Many tasks need repeated on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis. I am find I eed a separate work and home list. By using a list program to enter master tasks, e.g. dish washing, I can review my master list and select what tasks need attention today. My phone is always with me to keep me on track.
I use apps such as SplashShopper or List Pro to maintain a very complete single master shopping list. This way whether I am in a department store or a grocery store, I can pick up what they may carry on the list. This syncs with the computer so I am not recreating my master list each trip.
I always add a lot of odd things in as well that I might not need to purchase frequently: computer cartridge info, speciality light bulbs, etc. In the time between trips to the store, I mark what is running low/needed. At the store, I click off what is purchased and reset for the next trip.
I have a master list which also has long-term projects on it. Then I use 3x5 cards to break the list down into what I can REASONABLY do in a day. So instead of having 4-5 pages, I have maybe 8-10. The sense of accomplishment is amazing! Once the list is done I can choose to play without guilt 41
