I have always mopped the kitchen floor like my Mom taught me . . . on your hands and knees using elbow grease. Did this for years. Thought I would try those new fangled mops and swiffers. Just didn't feel my floors were all that clean. I decided to go back to the ole' tried and true method for mopping. So I bought a new garden pad (the kind you use to kneel on while pulling weeds) and now my floors are clean again and my knees do not hurt. Now my grandson can crawl all over the floor!

great idea although I do like the fibre mops that look like old string mops, they work great

wow for you. I cannot get on my knees so I could never do that. Marvelous.

That is how I clean my floors too. It's the only way to do it right. I use an old towel to pad my knees though. It's also handy to wipe up sloshes, and to take care of any streaks.

Those garden pads are a wonderful invention!

In my opinion, the cleanest floor I can get is when I do it by hand - literally! Have a great day!
After a total knee replacement, I am unable to kneel on the replaced knee. Getting down on the floor to exercise was a problem. I now pump my Sleep Number bed to the max and use that instead of the floor and it's much easier on my knee. That used to be my favorite excuse!211
