When my dorm room gets out of control and quite a bit messy, putting on good tunes while I clean makes me more inclined to not only just clean, but more inclined to dance while I clean, which adds some cardio to my day, and makes cleaning fun!
Pretend you're starting over every morning. Forget about the past and start fresh. This helps keep you motivated and gives you momentum. Every day is a clean slate and it is up to you to make it a healthy day. Remember how enthusiastic you were starting out?
Before I head off to bed for the night, I take a few minutes (about 15) to pick up around the house. There will be less for me to do in the morning, and at times, nothing. I can start my day with a clean house.
