because yesterday is gone and tomorrow isn't here yet. I don't worry about yesterday and what I did or did not do. The day is already over and done with, you can't change anything. Tomorrow hasn't gotten here, so why worry about what might or might not happen. Think about TODAY . . that is what is happening now. Yes you should be "thinking" of tomorrow, but then what happens to the blessings of today? They are gone and you haven't enjoyed them while they were here. Stay in today.
I don't deny the importance of goals... but then it is tempting to say "I'll do better tomorrow". I used to be that person. Now when I slip, forget, or realize I have really blown it I immediately try and think of something I can do to put myself on the right track....
It might be reaching for water or dropping everything and doing some wall pushups or calf raises, or going right to the fridge and preparing some veggies for my next meal/snack. The good thinkgs I do add up. Don't wait till tomorrow!
