I wear invisilign retainers and that takes the desire out of mindless grazing (our break room at work is a dieter's nightmare!). To indulge, you have to wash your hands, remove the retainers, and then brush teeth before replacing them. They didn't start a out as being a deterrent to snacking, but they work for me!
After my last scheduled snack, I brush my teeth and put on my retainer. This way I know I will not go for the extra goodies that I hear calling me before bed time. I have done it for 2 nights in a row and it works.
