Use Mason Jars With Regular Blender

Members Were Sparked
This Sparked Me!

I just read this... most regular blenders will accept Mason jars, so you can grind spices or your coffee beans into a Mason jar, and store right away. Simpler clean-up, no need for separate coffee or spice grinders, or to buy one of those 'bullet blenders'. It's also good to know if you happen to break the that jar/lid that comes with your blender. (see clarificiation in"more info", following comments rec'd.)

Clarification following comments: I take my blender's blades and screw them onto the jar, then screw that into the blender stand. Hopefully that's clear?

Thank You for explaining. I bought my son one of the bullet blenders so I understand how similar this is. I can't wait to try it!

I was wondering how this would work too???

Call me thick if you want but I can't see how this could work. I have an old blender and I can't figure it out unless... you put your ingredients in the jar than screw the BLENDER on top so as to not spill the content, then put the blender back upright, do your mixing, turn blender upside down again to unscrew it from the jar and voilą! Is that how it is supposed to work?

this is fascinating. i'm not sure i'm coordinated to unscrew a blender from the top of a jar, but i think i may just have to try it!

I just looked at mine and it's not the same kind, but my daughter has an old one and she does all kinds of fun things with hers, I'll tell her!
