Needing to eat when driving

MORE INFORMATION:
I have found that the temptation to hit a drive thru is highest for me when I'm doing a lot of driving. So, in order to deal with that more effectively, I've started carrying an apple (so far) in my vehicle with me when I go out. If I absolutely HAVE TO have something to eat, I'm prepared.

Apples are a good choice but don't have shelf life. I like to keep a few larabars in my brief case, glove compartment etc.

I often take a banana with me for a snack. I throw the peel out when I get to my destination. When I first started doing this I thought that made me kind of odd. One day I was at the library and my car broke down. While waiting for AAA I saw just how many people snack on bananas while driving because person after person walked up and dropped their peel in the garbage. It really made me feel happy to be one of those healthy people.

Another idea is a portioned out bag of nuts (measure out 1 oz or count out 18 pieces)
