This is a grest idea! I have to be really careful on certain herbal teas due to allergies but I have some peppermint tea I haven't been using and I do have decaf tea. I think I will try this instead of that late night snack routine I have let myself slide into. Sounds much better for me. Thanks so much!!!!

This has been great for me too, although I've just gotten started. I noticed there were two times a day when I either wanted to eat lunch too early or go for my afternoon snack too early. I started drinking an awesome herbal tea instead, so now that's become my routine. After dinner snacking is still a problem for me, so maybe I better expand the habit!

I started drinking herbal decaffeinated tea a couple of weeks ago and OMG I love them. I love the varieties and how wonderful they are for you. It's great to hear how they have helped you loose weight! Congratulations!

This is especially powerful for me at night, to fight the nighttime snacking/grazing. I force myself to make a mug of hot tea and drink that, helps to fill me up a bit and gives me something to do besides eat.

this is true. i know for me that when i crave licorice it is better to drink licorice tea.... want spice cake? try chai tea... lemon pound cake? lemon zinger. now they have a chocolate chai tea out too... i add a bit of almond milk for a creamy desert.

OMG!! Me too - I mean I didn't lose 120 lbs (you go!!!) but I substituted tea for snacks. I've always been a tea drinker, but now I drink between 8 and 10 cups at work every day in place of the nibbling I used to do and I only drink tea after dinner. Such wonderful ones I've found too (I can't have much caffeine): green teas, toasted rice green tea, a gorgeous chai blend, dandelion root tea, rooibus, rose hip, etc. etc. etc. What are your favorites?

MORE INFORMATION:
hi all. i find that i was eating too many snacks with my tea drinks so i have now trained myself to wait till my tea is cool enough to drink all at one time and have a smaller snack or even half or quater of a cookie so one cookie lasts me all day instead of eating one cookie with every cup of tea.
I often get cravings for something sweet so instead of reaching for a fattening dessert, I'm reaching for tea instead. I keep a stach of all sorts of yummy loose leaf tea like Sweet Coconut Chai, Cinnamon Green (my favorite!), and Good Mood tea (which really does work!). Visit your local tea store for hundreds of other varieties. You're sure to find one or two you like!
Drinking hot tea (no sugar added) instead of soda or energy drinks with my meals kept me on target!
MORE INFORMATION:
I took out my usual 140 cal soda or carbonated beverages and substituted it with green tea, Yogi slimming tea, and Sleeptime tea (for relaxing). It helped with my food digestion, and w/ no sugar added it cut about 320+ cals off. I also feel more healthy and this works great for the cold seasons!
