If you don't buy it, you can't eat it! If you can practice discipline at the grocery store--by not buyingunhealthy food, you won't have it at home. This will put you one step closer to achieving your healthy eating goals. I try to be very focused and stick to a list when grocery shopping.
Most of the healthy food at the grocery store are on the perimeter. Go to the produce section first. Buy whole grains and beans on the rice and beans aisle. Get dairy products and eggs in the dairy section. Practice caution elsewhere!
If you don't buy it, you can't eat it, so just keep the healthy stuff around. Also, think before you bite - consider the reason you're eating. Is it hunger or stress or boredom? If it's stress or boredom, find an alternative activity until the temptation passes.
