For CDs or DVDs that start skipping because of surface scratches, you can spray a small bit of furniture polish (like Pledge) onto a soft rag and wipe the disk. The polish cleans off the disk and fills in the small scratches so it plays again!

To prevent your new CD's and DVD's from getting scratched......turn them upside down inside the case. When you put back inside it's encasement....you slide it around to find the center...this results in dust particles scratching the sensitive disk..so turn it over before putting it back in the case and when you slide it to align the hole..it won't scratch it. Saves you alot of money in replacing them and the headache of trying to repair them with those expensive little scratch removing gadgets
Fix a scratched CD with toothpaste. Place a small dab of nonabrasive white toothpaste on a cotton ball, and gently apply it over the CDís scratch, starting the cotton ball at the middle of the CD and moving it outward. Use a small amount of water and a second, clean cotton ball to remove any excess toothpaste. Let the CD air-dry.
