I did 11216 today. It does feel good. I would never have believed it would work. I am, so far ,30 pounds less.

I'm using a pedometer for over 2 years now still I'm far away from the 10,000 steps a day goal...

I have been doing this for many months and I've found it to be a great motivator and has contributed greatly to my success. I'm much healthier and my weight is down significantly.

Can anyone recommend a good pedometer? I've had a couple and they never seem to register what I walk - I know you have to adjust for stride length but maybe I need to find a pedometer that's not smarter than I am! Thanks for any suggestions.

What will counting your steps do for you, I think I've heard of it before, but it was never explained to me...also what you didn't mention is that all pedometers are not made equal, some don't even properly pick of every step that you take, sometimes is depends on the placement and quality.

Never used a pedometer?
If you've never tried using a pedometer and would like to, check your public library. Ours has them to loan out for free, for 3-week periods. I haven't tried it (I have a pedometer), but if you do make sure you get a manual to go with. The settings on pedometers all work differently.
