When I had a cold as a youngster,my mom gave me chicken noodle soup.Little did she know that years later they would PROVE in a study [found in My Doctors'Book of Food Remedies by Selene Yeager & Editors of Prevention Magazine[pp.167-170-] that it DOES HELP with the colds in easing nasal congestion. When I am out & about in cold weather or whether I have a cold , I get the chicken soup HOT from Chick-Fil-A! ~It helps me so much!
I've found that when I am craving something like chick-fil-a, that I now order totally different than I used to. A year ago I would get a chicken sandwich up-sized with waffle fries and coke, now I order the 8 piece chicken nuggets with the fruit cup and an unsweetened iced tea. Total calories for this meal is around 340. It just goes to show that little changes like this can make a huge difference and that you can eat healthy any where any time!
If you cant avoid eating out, order a kids meal. They have smaller portions and have more visible healthy options. Subway has yogurt and apple slices, Chick fil a has fruit cups and almost all have milk. If I am craving a burger, a kids meal will meet that craving without blowing my calorie count
