For those of us who didn't start out as fans of brown rice I have a couple of tips to make it more tasty and even enjoyable. Brown rice needs lots of flavor so add salt, pepper, garlic and or red pepper to spruce it up a bit. If texture is the issue add a little extra water and cook longer than the instructions say. Also brown rice blends well in tomato based dishes. Stuffed bell peppers are great with brown rice. Give brown rice another try. You might be surprised.

I like to saute some mushrooms and onions in olive oil and mix that in with brown rice. I also buy brown jasmine rice, which has a little extra flavor already.

I love jasmine and especially basmati rice but didn't know it came in brown. Is there a specialty store you get it from Saraleighm? Thanks for the suggestions about the garlic and red pepper, never thought of doing that before.

Sticky brown rice is delicious - you can find it at Asian groceries. It is a little bit green tinged, and sweet.

I do brown rice a couple of different ways:
1) with a 3 bean chili poured over it 2) with cinnamin and sugar 3) in a burrito with black beans
It depends on my mood.
