I don't know if a good night's sleep reduces my appetite, but not getting enough sleep for SURE affects my health. All it takes is a couple days of sleep deprivation for me to feel physically AWFUL -- awfulness that includes the feelings of being bloated, foggy, and of terrible digestive trouble. Not to mention fatigue, of course. :)

SLEEP = WEIGHT LOSS
You need enough sleep, all the weight loss magic happens at night - so don't shave sleep and you will see bigger results.
I read a few articles that said not getting enough sleep or getting to much sleep will cause weight gain or inhibit weight loss. Apparently, this is esp. true for women 30+. The articles said that 8-9 hrs was optimum and that those who regularly slept that amount and at the same time each night would be able to loose and maintain their weight the best. This was something I had never incorporated in my previous endeavors to loose weight.

When I lost 97 lbs, one of the most beneficial things was learning that people often develop weight problems if they do not get the right amount of sleep. I made a conscious effort to get 8-9 hrs nightly and it had a very dramatic effect. The weight came off much easier than ever before.
