Sometimes loosing weight with someone else and having a friendly competition can be helpful.
For myself, I find that if I have a weight loss buddy who likes a little fun, friendly competition, it can go a long way in assisting me to reach my goals. When I want to give, knowing that I am trying to beat someone's weigh in, keeps me motivated and dedicated to the goals I have set.
... Competition ... after joining & loving SparkPeople (after a long absence) I am back & working hard to accomplish daily goals ... I am not always the most motivated so I found a way to challenge myself, get the healthy competition I thrive on & help people ... I joined the Pound for Pound Challenge (from The Biggest Loser, www.biggestloser.com) & for every pound I lose they donate a pound of food to a food bank of my choice! I joined a Division group from work, so far there are three of us!

Find someone at the gym (make sure they're doing something you enjoy!) who clearly loves to sweat, and set up a mental competition with him/her - try to keep up the intensity, speed, duration, and attitude! with which s/he approaches the workout. Getting lost in this competition passes time and feels super rewarding in the end. It's always hard to challenge our own bodies in the way others do!
