I use an immersion blender to make my own smoothies - I can stick it right into the glass with the ingredients. Then the end pops off and can go in the dishwasher. It is so much easier to use and clean than a regular blender!

I love my immersion blender for making soup. So much better than pouring hot liquid in a blender!

I used to throw away the broccli stalks - but I cooked them in water (salt / pepper / garlic) for about 30 min and then used my immersion blendder and now I have a base for broccoli soup, and additon to veg soup with the bonus of additional fiber!

End of week soup
AT the end of every week I go through the crisper for unused veggies and through the freezer for ends of bags of veggies. I toss everything in a big pot with a boullion cube or two and cook it to make soup. Add leftover chuncked meat or chicken if you have it. You can just chop it all, or use the immersion blender on it for a different style of soup. If I'm using the immersion blender, I also add any bits of leftover cheese. You could cook ends of boxes of pasta or broken spaghetti, and add

When making a cream soup, use an immersion blender to thicken soup. In some soups like potato reserve some pieces and add to thickened mixture. Great Carb reducer!
