Pizza Fix

If I crave pizza, I'll put marinara sauce (or spagetti sauce) in a pita pocket and add shredded cheese or string cheese and toast it in the toaster oven until the cheese melts. It's so good!
You can also add green peppers, mushrooms, & more. emoticon

    When I fancy pizza, I toast a slice of bread or split a roll and toast it. Then I add a layer of pureed tomatoes. On this I put sliced onion, sweet peppers, mushrooms etc (anything I like on pizza actually- tho' its usually veggie) with a light sprinkling of grated cheese and put in the microwave until the cheese melts. Its amazing how little cheese you need and it tastes great.Because its only one slice, its only a fraction of the calories of a real pizza. For a change why not try curry or BBQ sauce as the base? emoticon

    Great advice. This really works. Hubby and I had some for lunch yesterday and I like them better than take out b/c of all the great toppings I can put on like hot peppers, onions tomatoes, olives, spices and lots of veggies. Yummy!
