I'm fairly active. I'm not training for the olympics, but I do have a job that requires me to be on my feet for my whole shift, walking most of it and often lifting boxes up to 30 lbs, sometimes over my head, even. How many calories do I really need??? I'd get little red messages on my fitness page to tell me I need to eat more, but it gave no indication of how much more. I searched and remembered, time to recalculate my BMR. A little reminder to me and to all, don't forget to recalculate,
once in a while. Maybe like changing the batteries on your smoke alarm, twice a year.
Simply find an online BMR calculator. I entered my number of calories as my maximum caloric allowance on my nutrition page here, and as I want to lose weight, I subtracted 1,000 for my minimum. (2 lb / week)

Even healthy home made pizza can send your calorie count really high, So when I make a pizza I also make a quick healthy soup with stock and lots of veggies and eat a bowlful before the pizza. That way I end up eating less pizza, and keep my calories under control. 4
