Cut out store ads to ensure you get the right price.
Just because an item is on sale in the ad doesn't mean the store has the correct sale price in their computer system. When checkout clerks are instructed to be as fast as possible it is easy to miss if you've been charged the wrong price. When you are buying a sale item from an ad, cut the ad info out and bring it with to prove to the clerk if it rings up wrong. Even if only 1 item in 100 is wrong, it still might cost you significantly.
Yesterday I was glad I did this when a store didn't give me a $1 coupon off my next purchase I was due. I showed them the ad cutout, showed them what I bought, and they corrected it. It might have been $1 now, but it can add up quickly!
I keep a storage of gifts, cards and wrap that I've bought at sales throughout the year. When I need to give a gift or card, I take one from my storage rather than hitting the shops. My storage enables me to prepare for the holiday season early and then I can sit back, relax and enjoy! 144
