Don't Beat Yourself Up - Just Move On (and Get Moving!)
I don't mentally beat myself up for getting off track. It's in the past (whether it was last week or 5 minutes ago) and there's nothing that I can do about it now. I know that I can just focus on the here and now and try to make better decisions that will help me meet my goals.
I've developed "shades of gray" instead of "black and white, all-or-nothing" thinking!
I have reduced my cholesterol to 167 and my trglycerides(fat in my blood) down from 250 to 103 in 3 months. You can too! Eat 4 walnuts a day, put flaxseeds and seasame seeds onto salad, oatmeal grits, into cereal and veggies, just about everthing. I add pine nuts to my salads and have a small salad per day. Eat green beans 3x per week and have meat once every two weeks only. No skin on chicken or turkey, and I eat nothing white or anything thats baked or made with sugar.
Planning my menu keeps me positive, learning about the benefits of eating healthy and thinking of sugar as poison keeps me focused. I keep a daily food journal with calories, carbs, fats and sugars, so I always know what promotes my weight loss. Even if I only lose 2/10th of a pound that's a victory for me and I chip away at the pounds. I weigh in every morning and log it. I eat nothing white or enriched now, no baked goods, lean meat & poultry, lots of veggies and some fruit. Down 44lbs +
I didn't get fat overnight, so the small steps are still gratifying. I eat high water foods to reduce the chance of water weight gain...like cucmbers, cabbage, califlower, 1 cup of watermelon, etc. So if you jump up a pound or so reduce your sodium intake and eat foods high in water.
