I have come to find that if I eat a big green salad with healthy extras or green veggies first all the time I don't eat more than I should. I'm chewing slower and getting the message to my stomach quicker that I've eaten enough when I'm eating the rest of my meal. It's a great feeling to know that you've eaten enough!

I often eat half a serving of both protein and carbs with a regular size serving of veggies AND then I add at least two or three servings of veggies for my meals only. Most of the time the veggies I add consist of salad greens without dressing. I love he taste of plain old salad greens with my meals. For snacks I eat fruit and some kind of protein. Of course, I drink a lot of water every day, too.
Eating veggies will help me loose weight YES! Well as much as I know this to be true it has always bean a struggle. Who can endure the salad, salad, salad, bla, bla, bla,? Then I did a few tweaks that changed the way I think about getting my greens. I add them to wraps by the handful, replace green beans for my pasta when I'm having spaghetti, and make a veggie " chili that is packed with flavor not calories just to name a few.
Think outside the box and explore new options when it comes to the veggies you hated as a kid...zucchini, spinach, ocher, chard etc.4
