Set one small daily goal, write it in a journal, memorize it and stick to it.
Instead of thinking about how much weight I have to lose and how much time it will take, I now set only one small, daily goal first thing in the morning. I write it in my journal so I don't forget and make it official, then I only focus on this goal for the day. I set a different one the next day.
This forces me to only focus on today and to take it one goal, one step at the time.
Some say to take baby steps in developing a program; others suggest jumping in and forging ahead; and there are those who say to work on one goal at a time. I say discover what works for you and stick with it. For me I need to have a defined goal, but that's me. There are many roads leading to good health and no two paths are the same. What's important is to have fun and feel a sense of purpose while on this journey of a lifetime. Then it will be easier to maintain it for a lifetime.
