Start a load of laundry, then grab an empty laundry basket, set a timer, and go from room to room and pick up anything in each room that doesn't belong there. Make one circuit to pick-up and one circuit to deliver, emptying the basket. If you noticed trash while doing Pick-Up, set the timer again and empty and pick-up all the trash.
When you are done you'll have a feeling of accomplishment from picking up and rebooting the laundry.

We put shelves in my laundry room. I bought 6 baskets & labeled w/our names. Every morn/eve I put a load of laundry in the washer. What's in the washer goes in the dryer. What's in the dryer comes out & gets sorted into the right basket. When someones basket is full, they have to put it away!
No more unsightly piles of laundry. Everyone takes care of their own. I very easily manage to do TWO loads of laundry a day instead of 10 loads on the weekend. If I pull out stuff that needs to be hung up, I just lay it on their bed and they get the hint! LOL ;)
Relocating Items, Repositioning, and Stacking, is NOT Decluttering
FlyLady has a saying: You Can't Organize Clutter. Although you CAN organize clutter you're wasting your time. Your belongings have to FIT in the space available, in a peaceful unclogged manner.
Have 2 trash bags ready (black so you can't see through them to remove items).Take the Trash out immediately when the timer goes off, & take the Donate bag to the car immediately, so both are OUT of your home. You haven't decluttered until the items leeeeeeeeeave (cont'd).
Put the Keep items in a laundry basket, & before you go to bed go thru ea room dropping off items, & picking up anything that doesn't belong. Empty it B4 bed. Put small things that need to be glued or mended in a small basket by the phone, so you can do them during your next phone conversation.
After I wash & dry the laundry & it's ready to fold, I place the basket full on the floor and bend at the waist for picking up each and every piece one by one, stand up straight at the edge of the table top, place my item on the table and fold. **This is a little added bonus to my exercise!**
This is something easy and anyone can add it to their daily exercise! I use to place the basket of laundry in a chair and easily pick up the pieces with no extra effort or thought in mind. Now I fold my laundry with more than one purpose in mind! This helps me keep my healthy lifestyle in action!
