Yesterday at Walmart I checked my receipt and thought I was overcharged for my haircoloring - so I left the buggy with DH and checked the shelf. Well, the price had gone up - but not on my color! They gave me back $8.56 - well worth the bother.
Sometimes I write the price on the items (I always carry a pen) and then it is easy to check as items are being scanned. My GF takes a picture with her cellphone to prove the prices at the register. Whatever works, money in your pocket!

Overcharged at the store? Make sure to get your money back!
A few times per month I have been overcharged for items at the store...stores of all types, grocery stores, clothing stores, general merchandise stores and such. Look over your receipt before you leave the store. Don't be afraid or lazy about getting the money back for overcharged items. I saved an additional 4 dollars on one item due to a misapplication of a coupon. It adds up!
I store 90% of my shoes in the original boxes that they come in. I always put the sales receipt in with the shoes. If for some reason I need to return them or question how old my workout shoes are, I have the receipt right there. No digging through a mountain of other receipts looking for it. I also have done this with books that I purchase – especially cookbooks – I put the receipt in the back of the book. Sometimes I just want to know how long I have been using that cookbook.
We buy our medications from the same store we buy food. We are on a lot of medications and Dr recommended supplements. We save the receipts and the gas mileage counts towards our medical mileage deductible. Every little bit helps but it sure mounts up for us. Keep all of the receipts and circle the supplements on the grocery receipt.243
