when shopping always take a list - whether its grocery shopping or clothing or whatever a list helps to eliminate those impulse buys that zap our budgets.
Taking a list keeps you to a scedule as well - keeping you on target of where in the store you need to be. Wondering around aimlessly leads to all kind of purchases that you have no intension of getting therefore spending money that is outside your budget. Make the list according to need not want!
I will organize my shopping list according to the isles I see first up to the last isle. It makes shopping a lot quicker and you're not wasting time going up & down isles you don't need. It also keeps you focused on only the foods you went there for and prevents you from over spending,
It also prevents you from impulse buying of foods you know you really shouldn't get.
If you are tempted to make an impulse buy.227, or you are too tired or rushed to evaluate it there and then, or you can see it is a good offer but you are without the car/have too much shopping to carry already/are on route and can't get it in the freezer, there is (in most/many shops in the uk) an end date for the offer. This gives me time to cool off on impulse buys30, and I know if I need to make a special trip for a good offer, or if it can wait.
Sometimes the end date is clearly given, sometimes it is at the end of a code number presumably for staff to take the info down when it expires.
