On my SparkPage you'll find a photo of a very small blue zippered case (3"x6") that I got at a yard sale for only 75 cents. I call it 'My Survival Kit'. In it I can pack all the pre-measured conditments I may need while eating out. Yes, I take my own to restaurants, to BBQs, to parties and even to the homes of friends & family. For many of us going out to eat is a major challenge whether it be food alergies, high fats, high sodium, unknown ingredients, etc. and end up feeling so deprived.

I love that idea!! Eating out is a huge challenge anymore, especially in the small town I live in. I started on SP at the end of July this year. Since then I have done everything in my power to stay away from the fatty/high calorie foods...but going out to eat is difficult with a healthy plan considering I would say at least 75% of the restaurants here are fast foods and the others have menus that lack a healthy side. We find ourselves checking out the recipes we loved before and modifying them so we can eat guilt free. Sparkrecipes.com is wonderful for this as well. I also try to get my family and friends to come and eat at my house since we can't be rude and ask just how exactly they prepared their foods. You might also think of trying to have a "bring your own party" where you can gather with your friends and family and each bring your own foods to either grill or just brown bag it. It always turns out to be a blast to see what others will bring. Have a blessed day!

A survival kit can really contain anything you might need while on the road, doesn;t have to be just condiments. I fill mine with snacks, condiments, and anything I might just so happen to need on my journey. I love this!!
