I'm at a workshop this weekend and each time we have a new activity that requires concentration or team work, the facilitator encourages us to take 3 deep breaths (from the belly) followed by normal breathing. During the deep breaths she encourages us to deepen our relaxation and prepare ourselves for the task at hand. While on break I went for a walk, and before stepping out I practiced my deep breathing. What a difference it made as I enjoyed my walk and relished my communion with nature.
