While teaching my granddaughter the lesson of patience, I was reminded of how we may need to sacrifice what we want in the present for the greater reward we wish for in the future. I may not be able to eat that dessert (sacrifice) I wish for tonight because I want more to loose weight and get healthy.(reward). It doesn't mean I will never be able to have a dessert it simply means I need to postpone that wish in order to achieve the bigger picture of being at a healthy weight.
Drinking a smoothie with your dinner will help eliminate evening snacking
Instead of eating a dessert for dinner, I prepare a smoothie (my favorite is PB & J). They are a good source of calcium and fiber. This fills me up and satisfies my sweet tooth. No more late night eating or binging.
PB & J Smoothie is 8oz skim milk, 1 cup frozen strawberries, 1/2 frozen small banana, 1 heap tbsp. of flax or chia seed, 1 pkt stevia and 1-2 tbsp. of PB2. This smoothie is approx. 250 calories.
